Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
Ryan and I feel so blessed & are so Thankful to have such wonderful friends and family! God has blessed us with Two Beautiful Children, and has given us so much to be thankful for!

Wednesday after work Ryan the kids and I went to the Zepeda's house for a Gathering with all of our friends! We had pizza, and drinks and played Rockband, and boardgames..it was fun getting all of us together and hanging out.

For Thanksgiving Ryan and I had a few places we needed to go to celebrate with our loved ones. This year was Brooklyn's very First Thanksgiving! I think for the most part she enjoyed it! We started out our celebration at Nanny and Granddad's house, after there we headed to Ryan's parents house and celebrated with them, and his brothers and their families. After there we went to Jen & Ken's house and celebrated with my sisters, my brother Chris and My Sister's Husband's family the "Hart's" and our dear friends Chris & Kelli....the day went by fast, but we were so happy we got to spend the Holiday with all of our Family!

Blake & The Ladies

Sisters 2008

Brooklyn 6 months old

Over the weekend we got together with our very close friends & family and got our group photos taken! It was nice getting together and having a picture done with all of us...so nice we decided we are going to make it an annual thing! Since we were there Jenny, Candee and I did a sisters photo too...it had been some time since we had a picture taken professionaly of the 3 of us. We did some fun picture variations...and we also had Brooklyn's 6 month picture taken, since she turned 6 months old on Friday! (I know....6 months old already!!!) after our pictures we went to dinner at PF Changs then back to Jen & Ken's house for a little Guitar Hero! We feel so thankful for our friends and to be so fortunate to have them in our lives!

The Scoot

While most babies tend to roll or crawl to get around....Our little Brooklyn (who can roll) prefers to do the scoot instead!!! It is so funny to watch her...she can even get around pretty fast too! She arches that back of hers almost as though she is going to do a Bridge and then drops her feet out and scoots a good couple of inches! She thinks its so funny too!

We took her to the Dr. today.... I had a hunch that she might have an ear infection, as she has been holding onto a cold for a couple of weeks now...and lone behold she has a double ear infection. The Dr. said it looked pretty bad and was surprised at how well she was handling it, In fact the only thing that tipped me off is that she was tugging at her ears. Any how the Dr. prescribed her Amoxicillin. She is to take that for the next ten days twice a day, then go back to the Dr. for a check up! We gave her, her first dosage tonight...and she actually liked it....drinking it as if it were her milk.

We thought this was funny so we had to share it...but we had her weighed today she weighed 14lbs 8 oz....we looked back at Blake's baby book he weighed 18lbs 9oz when he was 5 months old...we just thought that was so funny since Blake was smaller than Brooklyn at birth! But the Dr. said she was growing beautifully and was maintaining the 50th percentile!

The Pledge of Allegiance

Blake ended his first track of preschool...and starts his 3 weeks off this week. He will return back to preschool December 1st. It truly amazes Ryan and I the things he has learned in the past 9 weeks. We are so happy with the progress he has made. One of the latest things Blake has learned is the Pledge of Allegiance, He also learned who the newest President of the United States is! It's so cute to hear him say "Barack Obama" it sound more like "Rock Obama" We look forward to the next 9 weeks of school and the things he will learn!

Blake's School Halloween Sing

Today Blake's School had a "Halloween Sing" the kids in his class got to wear their costumes to school and sing infront of their families all the songs they have learned about Halloween and Fall! It was so cute! I was really surprised at how well all the kids remembered the lines to the songs as well as the moves! Our Little "Blakers" is the Spiderman in the front row with the crooked mask!!! We were so proud of him! He has learned so much in the short time he has attended pre school...Ryan and I couldn't be more pleased!!!!

I had wanted to record him singing but my darn batteries in my camera died so all you get is a couple of pictures I managed to take before my battery died! Ryan got some video footage on our camcorder, so you'll have to come by and watch that one with us!

Brooklyn's First Solids

After Brooklyn's 4 month Check up the Dr. said that we could start introducing her to baby foods such as cereals and fruits and veggies. He told us there was no rush as she was gaining weight beautifully and was in the 50th percentile for both her height and weight (weighing in at 13lbs 6oz and 25 inches long) So Ryan and I last week were doing our grocery shopping and decided to pick up a box of Oatmeal & Banana's cereal for our little Brookybear! On Sunday night after the pumpkin carving party we gave Brooklyn her first bowl of Cereal! She wasn't too sure about it...not that she didn't like the taste...but was more confused to the texture of it...after all for the past 5 months all she has eaten is milk! She took a few bites, spit most of it out and let us know she wasn't too happy about this whole food thing....She is much more content with the bottle...we keep giving her a little bit each day to hopefully get her used to the texture....next month comes the veggies and fruits. We are still in dismay at how fast time is going...doesn't seem like our little girl should be even close to eating solids yet!

The Halloween Season wouldn't be complete with out our Pumpkin Carving Costume Party that Ryan and I put on every year for the Kiddos! This event has taken place since even before Blake and Brooklyn were born. The tradition of doing this started for Ryan and I about 5-6 years ago with our nephews Jeff & Rob...and has continued on ever since! Although we missed the company of our nephews this year, we still had a good time with our Friends and Family that could make it!

It was actually quite entertaining...I thought for sure since Blake & Isela were getting older they might actually be into the whole pumpkin carving thing...only to find out they still think it's "GROSS" Tyler Brown didn't think it was all that bad, he dug right into his pumpkin and pulled all the guts out...but then Isela and Blake enticed him to ditch his pumpkin and come play with them! So needless to say the adults got stuck carving the pumpkins... don't let them kid you though....they enjoyed every minute of it!!!

Halloween Party (Adults Only)

The Hosts of the Halloween Bash

"The Hynes"

This past weekend we attended the Hynes 3rd Annual Halloween Costume Party! I must admit each year it gets better and better! We love going to their Halloween Party...it's the one day a year that we get to kick back, be people we are not (aka...drunken Idiots!) and just have a good ol time! Me and the girls went with Suyzel's idea to be "The Wizard of Oz" and a HOT group of women were we!!! The guys sort of did their own thing! Ken and Pat did Dumb & Dumber (Very fitting costume for them) however they were acting more like "Gay & Gayer"!!! Ryan got best Male Costume...However I am not sure why he even got an award for that...being that he wasn't really in costume...most call him a Red Neck any how...no but really his costume was pretty good...He really made me sick with how well he got into costume! We are already looking forward to next year's Halloween Party!!!

Sneak Peak at the Kids Halloween Costumes

Pumpkin Patch

We just love this time year....Fall is so beautiful with the changing of the leaves and the weather...and we absolutely love Halloween....Blake especially, mostly because he loves Candy!!! Two weekends ago we attempted the Chatfield pumpkin Festival but it rained so we had to forgo it... we took the kids to Nicks Pumpkin Patch...Blake, Brooklyn and myself went on a hay ride, and the kids played in the jumping castle and did a maze, played in the face cut outs and picked out their pumpkins for our upcoming annual pumpkin carving party! We all had so much fun! I wish October didn't go so fast...we missed out on the corn maze this year...time just got away.

He is so proud of his Medal and we are so proud of him!

Today was Blake's last Soccer game for the season. He had a ton of fans out there watching him as he played his last game! He was so excited to see all of his family/friends watch him play...I thought he might get distracted by them, but he really had his head in the game today! I think his favorite part was when he received his participant medal...he was so proud of it!

Celebrating 5 Years of Wedded Bliss!!!

This past weekend Ryan and I celebrated our 5 year wedding annivesary (October 4, 2003) The time has just flown by...I guess it does that when you are enjoying it so much. We were fortunate to be able to celebrate this joyus occasion by spending the weekend in San Diego, along with 4 of our bestest friends! It was nice to have a vacation with out the kids, but I got to tell you...I missed them like crazy, however knowing they were in safe hands (Uncle Brent & Aunt Ricka) made it easier for Ryan and I to be gone... infact we only called twice to check in on them!!!
Hunington Beach
Mission Bay ~ San Diego

Happy 5th Anniversary!!

We did a lot of fun stuff while in San Diego, we flew into LAX and rented a car, drove down to San Diego and stopped at a few cool destinations along the way. The surf was awesome in Huntington Beach, as was the shopping! It was so cool driving thru Laguna Beach, although looks nothing like it does on TV...at least not to me! Once we arrived in San Diego we checked into the Hotel headed to the board walk and ate ice cream, got freshened up and headed over to the Gas Light District for some yummy Mexicn food...shortly following that was a dip in the Hot tub and swimming pool. The next day we all tried surfing/boogie boarding in the ocean...that was fun until Ken got spooked by a Seal who thought it would be fun to swim with Kenny! We rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk. The evening of our Anniversary we all took a Ferry across the bay to the sister hotel and had dinner at a place called "Worlds Famous" We are still trying to find out what they were famous for! It surely wasn't for their food!!! We attempted Sea World but once we saw the prices decided to head up to Coronado Island instead...had ice cream at moo town and looked at the Navy Ships. We ended our trip with one more stop in Huntington Beach to do some more great shopping, and then hit the Hollywood Blvd strip...got some pictures of the stars on the sidewalk, drove thru Beverly Hills, and up Rodeo Drive...it was really cool...wish we had more time in LA...we would have liked to check out a club or two...who knows maybe next time! It was a great time, and we can't wait to plan our next trip!
