Pumpkin Patch

We just love this time year....Fall is so beautiful with the changing of the leaves and the weather...and we absolutely love Halloween....Blake especially, mostly because he loves Candy!!! Two weekends ago we attempted the Chatfield pumpkin Festival but it rained so we had to forgo it... we took the kids to Nicks Pumpkin Patch...Blake, Brooklyn and myself went on a hay ride, and the kids played in the jumping castle and did a maze, played in the face cut outs and picked out their pumpkins for our upcoming annual pumpkin carving party! We all had so much fun! I wish October didn't go so fast...we missed out on the corn maze this year...time just got away.

He is so proud of his Medal and we are so proud of him!

Today was Blake's last Soccer game for the season. He had a ton of fans out there watching him as he played his last game! He was so excited to see all of his family/friends watch him play...I thought he might get distracted by them, but he really had his head in the game today! I think his favorite part was when he received his participant medal...he was so proud of it!

Celebrating 5 Years of Wedded Bliss!!!

This past weekend Ryan and I celebrated our 5 year wedding annivesary (October 4, 2003) The time has just flown by...I guess it does that when you are enjoying it so much. We were fortunate to be able to celebrate this joyus occasion by spending the weekend in San Diego, along with 4 of our bestest friends! It was nice to have a vacation with out the kids, but I got to tell you...I missed them like crazy, however knowing they were in safe hands (Uncle Brent & Aunt Ricka) made it easier for Ryan and I to be gone... infact we only called twice to check in on them!!!
Hunington Beach
Mission Bay ~ San Diego

Happy 5th Anniversary!!

We did a lot of fun stuff while in San Diego, we flew into LAX and rented a car, drove down to San Diego and stopped at a few cool destinations along the way. The surf was awesome in Huntington Beach, as was the shopping! It was so cool driving thru Laguna Beach, although looks nothing like it does on TV...at least not to me! Once we arrived in San Diego we checked into the Hotel headed to the board walk and ate ice cream, got freshened up and headed over to the Gas Light District for some yummy Mexicn food...shortly following that was a dip in the Hot tub and swimming pool. The next day we all tried surfing/boogie boarding in the ocean...that was fun until Ken got spooked by a Seal who thought it would be fun to swim with Kenny! We rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk. The evening of our Anniversary we all took a Ferry across the bay to the sister hotel and had dinner at a place called "Worlds Famous" We are still trying to find out what they were famous for! It surely wasn't for their food!!! We attempted Sea World but once we saw the prices decided to head up to Coronado Island instead...had ice cream at moo town and looked at the Navy Ships. We ended our trip with one more stop in Huntington Beach to do some more great shopping, and then hit the Hollywood Blvd strip...got some pictures of the stars on the sidewalk, drove thru Beverly Hills, and up Rodeo Drive...it was really cool...wish we had more time in LA...we would have liked to check out a club or two...who knows maybe next time! It was a great time, and we can't wait to plan our next trip!

Learning the Value of a Dollar

This past weekend Blake had his first lesson in earning money! We had a garage sale and my sister thought it would be a good idea for Blake to have his First Lemonade stand! So she talked me into making cookies and lemonade for Blake to sell. Needless to say we didn't make much money at our garage sale (tip for all of you out there....Sunday's are a horrible day to have a garage sale) However Blake did really well he sold $9.75 most of his proceeds came from his Aunt Jenny and Aunt Kelli.....but hey he still made money and that's what counts. He was so cute he would say "Get your Lemonade Get your Cookies Fiddy Cents" It was a good lesson for him to learn and he had a good time doing it! We asked him what he was going to spend his money on
and he said "Christmas!"

Brooklyn's 4 months old this week

Brooklyn just turned 4 months old this week...I can't beleive how fast the time is flying by. She is really becoming quite interactive and getting to be lots of fun. Blake is having a blast with her...she just admires her big brother! He is the only one that can get her to belly chuckle...we get little curteousy laughs from her, but Blake can get a genuine laugh out of her...must be that they understand each other! We took them to get Brooklyn's 4 month photos and didn't want Blake to feel left out, so we got some of the two of them...they turned out so good...I loved them, so I am sharing them with all of you...hope you enjoy!

Big Brother Blake

Monday when I dropped Blake off at school on my way to work, Blake's teacher told me that last Wednesday at school, Blake was so cute...he had some free time so he went over and played with a baby doll the teacher says he was rocking the baby telling her "Don't worry Brooklyn, I'm feeding you, you'll be just fine" then as another classmate approached him he stopped the child and said "Hey can you watch her for me for a minute?" the classmate took the baby doll and Blake walked off....she said it was so sweet...and that he is always talking about his baby sister!

Fun at the Park

Brooklyn had her first ride on the baby swings by herself today at the park. She really seemed to enjoy it! Blake enjoyed pushing her in the swings....we all had a great time!

Blake's Day out with Thomas

All of you who know Blake will attest that the kid just loves Thomas the Tank Engine....So this weekend I decided to take him to the Railroad Museum in Golden to see Thomas. Ryan was up hunting so we invited Aunt Jenny to come and join us. Blake had so much fun, He got to go on a 20 minute Train ride on Thomas. After that we listened to some Thomas storytellers and saw Sir Topham Hat. We got to board a few retired trains at the museum as well. They had miniature train sets set up and a Thomas tattoo station as well as a train building station and a petting zoo. Blake had a blast, I am happy we were able to take him and that he enjoyed it so much.

Silly Kids!

Blake's First Day of School!!

Last night around 9:00 I was getting Blake ready for bed so he could get up early for school today, he was so excited, he couldn't sleep he told me "mom I can't sleep, I'm too excited for school!" Ryan read him a book, I tried to tickle him to sleep he finally fell asleep at 11:00. I knew when I had to wake him up this morning he wouldn't want to get up. When the alarm went off I went to wake him to which he replied "a few more minutes" I gave him a couple more minutes and then pulled him out of bed and put him in the shower. After his shower he was wide eyed, and ready to go to school....he ran to his room put on his underwear and said "Mom, what am I supposed to wear?" I put his clothes out on the bed for him to get dressed! We got to his school at 8:00 this morning, We had a small talk with him about listening to his teacher and being nice to his classmates, to which he replied "K" He was so excited to be at school, you couldn't wipe the smile off his face even if you wanted to! I walked him to his classroom, where his teacher met him, and helped him take off his backpack and helped him find his name to place on the feeling chart. She asked him " Blake tell me how you feel today? put your name under the face of the feeling you are having...are you happy, sad, angry or excited? He put his name right on the Excited face" I gave my baby a kiss good bye and told him I would see him in a couple of hours. Much to my surprise neither of us cried (I was more worried about myself than Blake!) I was so excited to pick him up from school and find out how his day went that I got there 15 minutes early (again much to my surprise, I was early...that almost never happens!) any way we caught his classroom heading out to recess....it was so cute to watch Blake walk out in a single file line with his classmates. They played outside for 10 minutes and then lined the kids up again to head back to the classroom for dismissal. When he was dismissed Ryan asked Blake how he liked school and Blake said "It was great" Ryan said did you learn anything? Blake said "No" then Ryan said what was your favorite part and Blake said "Recess"......Ryan and I laughed and Ryan said "sounds like not much has changed since I was in school....I didn't learn anything and Recess was my favorite too!!!" Blake can't wait to go back on Wednesday!!!

Some Pics from Blake's First Soccer Game

BLAKE'S FIRST SOCCER GAME

Saturday was Blake's very first Soccer practice and game! Once again his dad is his Coach! Blake has 5 girls on his team and he and one other boy make up the team of 7! He really seemed to like soccer much more than Tball! He had so much fun kicking the ball around, and running around the square during practice. He got upset and cried twice during the game, once when some one took the ball from him and the other time when he fell superman style onto the ground after chasing the ball. He got his first Soccer scratch and we are sure there will be more to come!

Blake Starts Pre School

Today Ryan and I registered Blake for Pre school! He was so excited when we told him that he was going to school! "He said, Hip hip hooray!"
His First day is Monday Sept 8th! He is on a year round track schedule which means he will go to school every Monday and Wednesday from 8:10am to 10:30am for a 9 week period then he will have 3 weeks off and return back for another 9 weeks.
When we registered him today he got to meet his teacher Ms. Hastings, and he got a chance to play with the kids while I filled out some paperwork. When it was time to go, Blake didn't want to leave, he told me "No mom, you not take me to school ever, ever, I don't want to go" The teacher gave him a cupcake and told him she would see him on Monday, the whole way home he talked about how excited he was to go back to school, and how much he loved the playground there! I'm so anxious to take him to school on Monday for his first day.... I have to admit I am a little sad, can't believe my baby is already old enough to start pre school...my where did that time go?!!!

Gearing up for Soccer

This Saturday will be Blake's first soccer game! He is really excited. We went this past week to get his gear for soccer (shin guards, and soccer shorts, he already had the cleets from Tball) Him and Ryan kicked the ball around the house and the front yard! I think Blake is really going to like playing soccer, much more than Tball there is a lot more play time with soccer! I can't beleive how much he looks like his daddy (when Ryan played soccer) with all that gear on! I'll report after this weekend and let you all know how he did!!!
