Girls Night Out!

Tonight Ken decided to do a ride along with Ryan and so Jen thought it would be fun to do a girls night out.... while the boys played Cops and Robbers!!! (I guess they never get too old to play) We started out our evening at Caldonia's (Mandy's suggestion) cause we wanted to go somewhere fun but also close to home, when we got there it was pretty empty... so after eating there we left Caldonia's and headed over to LODO's (Mandy's 2nd Suggestion)for a little more action! LODO's was much more fun, and alot more busy!! We had a few drinks hit the dance floor, and just had fun hanging out! We met some goofball by the name of Justin, who made Mandy aka Jill smell his armpits...it was pretty foul and yet funny all at the same time!!! On our way home we had heard that Ryan's work was staffed pretty fat so Ken was riding 3 man meaning he was the 3rd guy in the car so he had to ride in the back of the cop car....we thought that was pretty funny but we had to see for ourselves, just how funny it really was, so we met up with Ryan and his Partner and Sgt and chit chatted with them for a minute while they were in between calls...and we got a couple of pictures of Ken in the back of the car...it was great! Glad we had a chance to do a girls night...it had been a while and it was lots of fun!

7 Months Old

Brooklyn is doing so much at 7 months old...it's truly amazing. She is such a rolly polly... that's her method of transporation these days! She isn't far off from crawling though, right now she does the army crawl and then gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth...it's so cute, she will be ready for take off any day now!

Brooklyn is also saying a lot of babble...she say's mama a lot... I just love it. Blake and Ryan always try to get her to say dada...but she know's better!

Here are some of Brooklyn's recent 7 month pictures....they turned out so cute!!!

Christmas 2008

Our First Christmas as a family of 4

Christmas 2008 was Blake's 3rd Christmas and Brooklyn's 1st Christmas. They both had a really good Christmas! Santa, Family, Friends, Ryan and I really spoiled the kids, they made out like Bandits! Xmas Eve started out at Ryan's Grandparents house...we saw all of Ryan's Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. We even got a visit from Santa Claus! After spending a good hour and a half at Nanny and Granddad's we headed over to Ryan's parents house. We ate there and opened presents with Ryan's Brothers, Sister in Laws and all of our Nephews. Ryan's dad was surprised by his brothers with a great gift...a new handgun, you should have seen the excitement on his face! After spending about 3 hours there we left and made our way to church where we met my family minus my brothers. Ryan had to leave church early because he had to go to work. After church my brother Shawn, and both of my sisters and my Dad and Mo came over for some cookies and a little guitar hero...that's right Guitar Hero...we got Dad, and the boys hooked! The night finally ended with me baking cookies for Santa, and tucking Blake and Brooklyn into bed!

Christmas Day was just about as busy as Christmas Eve. Ryan's work was kind to let him off work a little earlier than normal, so that he could Celebrate Christmas with us. Ry got home about 5:30am slept until about 9:00am then Blake came in our room....told us he "He didn't hear Santa's Reindeers on our rooftop" I told him to look by the fireplace to see if Santa ate our Cookies... He ran and checked and to his surprise he saw a huge gift from Santa, one for Blake and one for Brooklyn. He came runninig back to our room, "Santa came, Santa came" so we got out of bed and watched the kids open their presents from Santa. After they opened their present and their stocking stuffers, Ryan put together the gift from Santa, as I prepared the food for later in the day to celebrate with my family. Around 1:30pm we left for Ryan's parents house to finish opening up gifts with them. We came back home at 3:30 and my family came over around 4:00. We had dinner and opened presents with all of my family. Although it was busy it was fun, the kids got to open presents all day long.

Blake's School Christmas Program

Today Blake had a Christmas Program at his school. I was really excited to go and watch him sing the Holiday Songs he had learned over the last few weeks. Blake had been practicing the songs he had learned at home so I knew he knew the words, but when we got to his classroom, he didn't sing a single word. He just stood there, every now and then jingling his jingle bells or doing some of the moves. After the program the teachers had the parents bring in juice, and cookies and neat little treats for the children to snack on. I asked Blake why he didn't sing and he told me "Cause I was shy mom" he also told me that he had a little girlfriend at school, her name was Brinn. He was standing next to her and she made him shy (or at least that's what he tells Ryan and I) I took some video of the program, so you could all see my son NOT SINGING! Hope you enjoy!

for some reason it doesn't like my format for my upload of my video, so I will just have to put up some pictures

Xmas Parties

Ryan, Brooklyn and Me

This year was busy full of Xmas Parties for both friends and work gatherings. Saturday the 13th we got together with some of our best friends and had a wonderful feast hosted at Jenny's house. Dinner included a Honey Ham, with Funeral Potatoes and corn and dinner rolls...it was delicious. We played a couple of games (scattagories and Catch phrase) and we did an elephant exchange...that was lots of fun!

On Monday the 15th Ryan's boss hosted a Xmas party at his house with all of Ryan's team and another team from district 3. I know what your thinking a Xmas party on a Monday?!!! they had to do it on a Monday because that is their Saturday!

Jen and Ken were kind enough to watch the kids for us, we had a great time,! I enjoyed meeting all the guys that Ryan works with and their spouses. It was interesting listening to some of their cop talk, it really gives you a new appreciation for the law enforcement.
I felt bad, but by 11:00pm I told Ryan it was time go...I know he was having a good time but it was getting late and I had to work the next day as did our sitters Jen and Ken, I didn't want to keep the kids at their house too late, but I also didn't want to make Ryan leave as he doesn't get to hang out with his buddies as much since he doesn't have the weekends off, so we left around 11:15. I'll tell you, I was exhausted the next day at work, but it was worth it, Ryan enjoyed himself as did I!

Well Baby Check up

Monday Ryan took Brooklyn for her 6 month well baby check up. The Dr. said she was growing beautifully. She weighed in at 15lbs 7.5oz and was 28 1/2 inches tall. The Dr. said she shot up in height from her last well baby check up, but that she was in the 50% for her weight and 75% for her height. Brooklyn got 4 shots which were the last of her routine shots, her next set will be on her 1st birthday. She goes back in January to get her flu booster shot. Ryan said she was a strong little girl, she cried for a couple minutes right after the first shot but by the time he got her clothes back on she was already over the pain...that's my girl! She takes after her mommy!!!

Ryan said the best part was after Brooklyn got her shots, Blake went over kissed Brooklyn's little thighs and told her "It's okay Brooklyn I know how you feel, you'll be okay" He is such a good big brother!

Candee's 30th Birthday!

December 4th Candee turned 30 years old! Jenny and I surprised Candee with a funfilled weekend all about her! We took Candee on Saturday to get her hair done professionally we had her hair colored, cut and styled. She was so surprised, and she loved it, not to mention she looked fabulous! After her surprise hair do...we told her we were taking her downtown for dinner at the Westin Hotel...when in acutallity we had gotten a Hotel Room along with 8 of our best pals. Our friends checked in prior to our arrival and decorated our Hotel Room with 30 decorations and when we got to the Hotel they yelled surprise! Candee was so excited, she had no clue, we had a few drinks at the hotel, got dolled up for dinner and ate at Earls, we caught a few glimpses of the Parade that was going on, then headed back to the Hotel for more drinking, bday spankings and pillow fighting! All and all the night was a success...Candee had a great time!

Brooklyn's first words

I was so excited I had to run right to my Blog and post it!! Brooklyn said her first real word today.....Guess what it was?...........That's right she said "Mama" it was music to my ears! Blake's first word was Dada....so you can imagine how pleased I was to hear Brooklyn say Mama...of course shortly after saying mama she said some words that sounded like baba to me...but Ryan swears it was Dada! I'll try to catch her on camera saying "mama" so you can hear how SWEET it sounds!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
Ryan and I feel so blessed & are so Thankful to have such wonderful friends and family! God has blessed us with Two Beautiful Children, and has given us so much to be thankful for!

Wednesday after work Ryan the kids and I went to the Zepeda's house for a Gathering with all of our friends! We had pizza, and drinks and played Rockband, and boardgames..it was fun getting all of us together and hanging out.

For Thanksgiving Ryan and I had a few places we needed to go to celebrate with our loved ones. This year was Brooklyn's very First Thanksgiving! I think for the most part she enjoyed it! We started out our celebration at Nanny and Granddad's house, after there we headed to Ryan's parents house and celebrated with them, and his brothers and their families. After there we went to Jen & Ken's house and celebrated with my sisters, my brother Chris and My Sister's Husband's family the "Hart's" and our dear friends Chris & Kelli....the day went by fast, but we were so happy we got to spend the Holiday with all of our Family!

Brooklyn 6 months old

Over the weekend we got together with our very close friends & family and got our group photos taken! It was nice getting together and having a picture done with all of us...so nice we decided we are going to make it an annual thing! Since we were there Jenny, Candee and I did a sisters photo too...it had been some time since we had a picture taken professionaly of the 3 of us. We did some fun picture variations...and we also had Brooklyn's 6 month picture taken, since she turned 6 months old on Friday! (I know....6 months old already!!!) after our pictures we went to dinner at PF Changs then back to Jen & Ken's house for a little Guitar Hero! We feel so thankful for our friends and to be so fortunate to have them in our lives!

The Scoot

While most babies tend to roll or crawl to get around....Our little Brooklyn (who can roll) prefers to do the scoot instead!!! It is so funny to watch her...she can even get around pretty fast too! She arches that back of hers almost as though she is going to do a Bridge and then drops her feet out and scoots a good couple of inches! She thinks its so funny too!

We took her to the Dr. today.... I had a hunch that she might have an ear infection, as she has been holding onto a cold for a couple of weeks now...and lone behold she has a double ear infection. The Dr. said it looked pretty bad and was surprised at how well she was handling it, In fact the only thing that tipped me off is that she was tugging at her ears. Any how the Dr. prescribed her Amoxicillin. She is to take that for the next ten days twice a day, then go back to the Dr. for a check up! We gave her, her first dosage tonight...and she actually liked it....drinking it as if it were her milk.

We thought this was funny so we had to share it...but we had her weighed today she weighed 14lbs 8 oz....we looked back at Blake's baby book he weighed 18lbs 9oz when he was 5 months old...we just thought that was so funny since Blake was smaller than Brooklyn at birth! But the Dr. said she was growing beautifully and was maintaining the 50th percentile!

The Pledge of Allegiance

Blake ended his first track of preschool...and starts his 3 weeks off this week. He will return back to preschool December 1st. It truly amazes Ryan and I the things he has learned in the past 9 weeks. We are so happy with the progress he has made. One of the latest things Blake has learned is the Pledge of Allegiance, He also learned who the newest President of the United States is! It's so cute to hear him say "Barack Obama" it sound more like "Rock Obama" We look forward to the next 9 weeks of school and the things he will learn!
