Blake's First Day of School!!

Last night around 9:00 I was getting Blake ready for bed so he could get up early for school today, he was so excited, he couldn't sleep he told me "mom I can't sleep, I'm too excited for school!" Ryan read him a book, I tried to tickle him to sleep he finally fell asleep at 11:00. I knew when I had to wake him up this morning he wouldn't want to get up. When the alarm went off I went to wake him to which he replied "a few more minutes" I gave him a couple more minutes and then pulled him out of bed and put him in the shower. After his shower he was wide eyed, and ready to go to school....he ran to his room put on his underwear and said "Mom, what am I supposed to wear?" I put his clothes out on the bed for him to get dressed! We got to his school at 8:00 this morning, We had a small talk with him about listening to his teacher and being nice to his classmates, to which he replied "K" He was so excited to be at school, you couldn't wipe the smile off his face even if you wanted to! I walked him to his classroom, where his teacher met him, and helped him take off his backpack and helped him find his name to place on the feeling chart. She asked him " Blake tell me how you feel today? put your name under the face of the feeling you are having...are you happy, sad, angry or excited? He put his name right on the Excited face" I gave my baby a kiss good bye and told him I would see him in a couple of hours. Much to my surprise neither of us cried (I was more worried about myself than Blake!) I was so excited to pick him up from school and find out how his day went that I got there 15 minutes early (again much to my surprise, I was early...that almost never happens!) any way we caught his classroom heading out to recess....it was so cute to watch Blake walk out in a single file line with his classmates. They played outside for 10 minutes and then lined the kids up again to head back to the classroom for dismissal. When he was dismissed Ryan asked Blake how he liked school and Blake said "It was great" Ryan said did you learn anything? Blake said "No" then Ryan said what was your favorite part and Blake said "Recess"......Ryan and I laughed and Ryan said "sounds like not much has changed since I was in school....I didn't learn anything and Recess was my favorite too!!!" Blake can't wait to go back on Wednesday!!!

Some Pics from Blake's First Soccer Game

BLAKE'S FIRST SOCCER GAME

Saturday was Blake's very first Soccer practice and game! Once again his dad is his Coach! Blake has 5 girls on his team and he and one other boy make up the team of 7! He really seemed to like soccer much more than Tball! He had so much fun kicking the ball around, and running around the square during practice. He got upset and cried twice during the game, once when some one took the ball from him and the other time when he fell superman style onto the ground after chasing the ball. He got his first Soccer scratch and we are sure there will be more to come!

Blake Starts Pre School

Today Ryan and I registered Blake for Pre school! He was so excited when we told him that he was going to school! "He said, Hip hip hooray!"
His First day is Monday Sept 8th! He is on a year round track schedule which means he will go to school every Monday and Wednesday from 8:10am to 10:30am for a 9 week period then he will have 3 weeks off and return back for another 9 weeks.
When we registered him today he got to meet his teacher Ms. Hastings, and he got a chance to play with the kids while I filled out some paperwork. When it was time to go, Blake didn't want to leave, he told me "No mom, you not take me to school ever, ever, I don't want to go" The teacher gave him a cupcake and told him she would see him on Monday, the whole way home he talked about how excited he was to go back to school, and how much he loved the playground there! I'm so anxious to take him to school on Monday for his first day.... I have to admit I am a little sad, can't believe my baby is already old enough to start pre school...my where did that time go?!!!

Gearing up for Soccer

This Saturday will be Blake's first soccer game! He is really excited. We went this past week to get his gear for soccer (shin guards, and soccer shorts, he already had the cleets from Tball) Him and Ryan kicked the ball around the house and the front yard! I think Blake is really going to like playing soccer, much more than Tball there is a lot more play time with soccer! I can't beleive how much he looks like his daddy (when Ryan played soccer) with all that gear on! I'll report after this weekend and let you all know how he did!!!

So as many of you know, Ryan has been working Downtown covering the DNC...and I found his picture on the FOX 31 news website! He's the guy that's looking down! He has been working 12 hours and then some every day since Saturday and still has two more days to go...poor guys are exhausted. So far Ryan hasn't gotten into anything too exciting to tell you about, just did a little riot control the other day but for the most part he's just on foot patrol making his presence known with the rest of the PD! Obama comes in today, so maybe he will have some excitment today!!!

We took Brooklyn to get her 3 month old pictures today...I still can't beleive she is already 3 months old. My gosh that happened so fast. She is learning so much. Still haven't gotten a laugh out of her, but we sure are working on it! She's a tough little cookie! You can just tell that lil laugh is dying to come out!

Look at our cute little family!!!

Fly me to the moon

We took Blake and Brooklyn along with the Zepeda Family to see the 3d movie "Fly me to the moon" oh did they have a great time! Blake was making us laugh, he thought he could touch the objects cause of his 3d glasses try explaining 3D to a 3 year old! It was a great movie and we all had a really good time!

New Endeavors

I am so thrilled! I got a new job !!! Boy that was fast...thankfully! I quit my job Monday and by Friday already had a new job!!! I landed a great job at the Colorado State Bank and Trust downtown, in Private Financial Services! I am so excited, after my interview on Wednesday I really wanted the job, My new manager seems like a great guy to work for, and to make matters even better, I'll be making more money and get way better benefits! I always say things happen for a reason, and I truly believe that!

It has been brought to my attention that I had forgotten one of the most important benefits of my new job....I get to work like a block away from my sister!!! We plan to ride the light rail to work together and car pool together...so it will be a great save on gas....as well as take some lunches together!!! we are both very excited about this...as we can never get enough of each other!!!

New Adventures!!!

So I did it.....I finally resigned my position at Wells Fargo. Although it was a tough decision to make, it was the right thing to do! Some times employers get a little too comfortable with you and vise verse! So for the time being I am searching for a new job...hoping to find something part time but if need be I will take on a new full time job...I have a few leads that look promising, so I'll be sure to update with what becomes of anything! God Bless my supportive husband, with out him I wouldn't have this opportunity to be with my little ones as long as I have or the chance to re invent myself!!!

Thumb Sucker

So our little Brookybear has become quite the little thumb sucker! Her Aunt Jenny is so proud!!!(she was a thumb sucker too) It's so different from when Blake was a baby, he never wanted a pacifier or his thumb, he just wanted the real thing! Brooklyn turned 12 weeks old today....I just can not beleive how fast the time is going by. I am so enjoying my time spent home with the kids. You don't realize how much you really miss out on until you get to spend 12 weeks off with them. Brooklyn is really becoming interactive....it's so enjoyable and rewarding to see her smile and respond to our facial expressions....we are dying to hear her laugh...Ryan has tried everything, so far we only get a smile...I just know a laugh is on it's way!!!!

Brooklyn 11 weeks old

Blake's last Tball game of the season

Saturday was Blake's last T-ball game for the season! He had a lot of friends and family come out to watch his last game, he was so excited to have them all there! Blake made some really good friends playing T-ball as did we! After the game Blake's team went up to CiCi's pizza for a team party! Ryan handed out team medals. We signed Blake up for Soccor in the fall which starts in September, we are really excited to watch him play, and hope that Ryan will get to coach him in that too!

Monday, August 4, 2008

Last week we went to the Cherry Creek Resevoir and left Brooklyn with Grandma and Grandpa Hart. Blake had so much fun out there with us...I think he felt like the old days before Brooke was here! It was nice getting to spend that one on one time with him. While we were there we were eating lunch on the boat and Blake spotted a flock of geese floating on by us and he yelled "Hey Geeks come back" we busted our guts...it was so funny...he kept calling them Geeks because he couldn't say geese.

Last week Blake's Granddad came to his Tball game for the first time! Blake was so excited to have him there and to show off everything he has learned! Ryan was also pretty excited to have his dad there...watching Ryan coach his son Blake...and the rest of the little sluggers team! Seems here lately his dad has been pre occupied with others, so to have him out and spend the afternoon was nice!

Friday, August 1, 2008

So today I decided to substitute one of Brooklyn's feedings with a bottle instead of the breast and as I was feeding her she reached up and grabbed her bottle (which she has only ate from maybe a handful of times).....I let go to see if she could hold it on her own, and by golly she did. I am so not ready for this....she is catching on so quickly and learning so fast. I am happy she is so smart, but sad that my little girl is growing so fast!
